Ok i need a way to stop or reduce hair growth on my face and body. Will estrogen help reduce or maybe stop new hair growth?Im afraid that the hair will become more noticable.PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!Is there any products i can get at walmart that will reduce it.Or maybe any natural way
Im in exactly the same quandry as you. I have exceesive hair growth on my chin and even thought the hair were fine they grew long and so i have started to cut them but then this has mad them thickerat the ends so more noticeable. i have the odd few dark hairs there to which i either pluck or bleach. but nothing i do is enough at the minute. im loking into electrolosis and laser treatments it might be worth you doing the same.
I went to my docter and have been given vaniqua cream which you can buy but is expensive but have yet to try it because it say you need to remove hair then apply but i dont want to go down that route!!!!

Don't you need a perscription for that? You stated that the hair again needs to be removed, does it need to be from the root, what do you think about waxing before applying the product? Do you think that work or would it interact with the product? And before you spend money on laser, it's not guaranteed, so far nothing is. I have tried so many things that it is unreal. I have been fighting this problem for the past three years. I have facial hair on my chin and cheeks. I use Sally's facial hair remover for sensitive skin every single day, because I can feel hair on my face every morning when I awake. It's unreal the changes we women have to go through and no-one can seem to create something that is guaranteed to stop the hair from coming back.

Hi and know that electrolisist may not work.. I've tried the creams, shaving, plucking and anything else thats out there. One expensive lesson I learned is that laser treatment WILL NOT work on hair thats not very dark hair. I think I'm going to ask a cosmetic surgery if they can make an incision under my chin and surgicaly scrape the hair folicals out and this would be a permenate solution. No diff then getting your chin bobbed but just remove the folicals all together.. I'm so distressed by mine that I'm like alot of you.. I want life over if I can't feel like the woman that I am.. Warm hugs to all of you

FIRST, I AM IN THE SAME WAY AS YOU ARE WITH THE HAIR GROWTH DEAL ON THE CHIN. I STARTED OUT BY PLUCKING AND THEN IT ONLY CAME BACK THAT MUCH MORE SO I DECIDED TO TRY THE ELECTROLOSIS. WORD OF ADVICE IT DOESN'T WORK. I SPENT ALMOST $2,000 OVER TIME AND IT STILL IS THERE SO I JUST STOP DOING IT. I WAX NOW. FOR I SPENT SO MUCH TRYING TO STOP IT AND IT JUST DID NOT WORK. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE LASER TREATMENTS FOR NOW I WISH I HAD TRIED THAT FIRST INSTEAD. SO IF YOUR THINKING ABOUT EITHER ONE I WOULD CHOOSE THE LASER TREATMENTS.

Hello all alike!
My name is Annie S. And I am 21 years of age.
I too am dealing with similar problems. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism this year, and am also suspected to have pcos (polycycstic ovarian syndrome). Extremely distressed and near suicidal, I began to research permanent solutions for hair removal for the excessive hair grown on my cheeks, chin and neck. That was when I came across electrolysis. Just to let all the hopeless out there know, electrolysis isn't a magic, immediate solution. It is a process, it takes time. I have been having weekly sessions for three months now, and have noticed that the dark, coarse hairs being treated are actually growing back finer! Yes, of course that restless demon of doubt manages to creep it's way back into my mind, and at times is so powerful I feel as if I can't take life anymore.
Of course there are many other solutions offered out there now a'days: laser, electrolysis, waxing, threading, at home hair removal devices, shaving, creams that slow down hair growth (Vaniqa). But I needed a more permanent method, I was crumbling and tired of all he maintenance I dedicated to making myself looking like the "before" Annie.
But just to assure you, electrolysis can work, maybe not for all, but wih dedication and persistence results will be apparent. Do note though: THE MORE YOU HAVE SHAVED/WAXED/ETC, THE LONGER IT TAKES TO DESTROY THE ROOT OF THE HAIR, WHICH MAY MEAN ELECTROLYSIS WILL INDEED TAKE LONGER! It is also recommended that you DO NOT pluck, shave, etc in between sessions.
Best of luck to you all, and my heart truly is with all of you. I know how alone you feel.
Please, take care.

I ordered the Ultra Hair Away and I'm only using it on my face and I'm still on the same bottle and for right now I can't tell any difference, I'm still using other products daily including shaving to get rid of facial hair. I would not buy it If I were you, don't even waist your money.

Hi I also went through laser and had 16 treatments, but the problem is still there and even worse. I have more dense and
thick hair. I think laser is just a wastage of time and money.
I did some research after and found that for unknown
reason, a percentage of people get their hair back after laser.
The bottom line is laser in not 100% guaranteed.

I spent a fortune on laser treatments in my opinion I now have more facial hair than when I started. I think it may have killed off the original dark hairs but the shaving produced more in the same area. Now of course I have a mixture of dark/white/grey hair, white/grey cannot be dealt with by laser. Back to square one! I go and get it threaded once a week, no more ingrowing hairs so a smooth complection but would still like a permanent remedy. Surely there must be some college or university that could get their science department to come up with a solution.

Hi, I'm 24 and I have been having facial hair for years, all this time I have plucked the hairs from my chin and it has gotten worse. I might have pcos and I've decided to go for electrolysis; my only concern is that you cannot pluck any hairs once you start electrolysis treatments. I don't want to shave and depilatory creams don't work because the hair is thick. I don't think I'm going to be able to just let the hair grow for a week and keep facing the people I see everyday. Need some advice!!!!!!!

I have been having electrolysis for about 6 months now. I started once a week and now go back twice a month. U have to be patient with this as it is slow but I think it has improved. I pluck in-between sessions and haven't been told not too. I would say it's better than doing nothing and what's 20 pounds a month to see the effects rather than 500 for laser.

im doing it! Ive had two lazer treatments, its been 3 months of shaving everyday and it sucks but you have to do it during the lazer treatments. when it falls out your skin feels like baby ass and youll want to do your whole body. If you buy on groupon its pretty cheep. On living social its 50 bucks for 6 treatments! It is permanent for about 5 yrs. Ive had my lip done, it was great but 5yrs later, its back. But it was worth it for those 5 yrs. Im aslo an esthetician and have worked at a lazer clinic so I do have accurate information.

I am having the same issues as everyone. I went to the OBGYN back in 1998 when I was working and had insurance and she told me that I have a hormonal imbalance and I was put on birth control for 3 months. It only helped with my menstral problem, and not the hair problem on my face. I was supposed to go back for a checkup, but they had messed up my insurance at the temp place I was working for and I was kicked off of the insurance, so I had no extra money to go for the checkup. I am still having the facial hair, and although I am working at another company, our deductible is $2000 and I have no extra money to go back to the OBGYN. I was wondering if there was some type of herbal supplement I could take to make my hormones balance so this hair can stop growing on my face. The only thing I can do for it right now is shave it because I have no extra money for laser treatments or those elctro treatments. I would rather take natural herbs anyway for this problem. If anyone knows of any herbs or what not to take, please contact me. Email - earthen_vessels24@yahoo.com

You think with all the technology and science they have today they would have found a way to eliminate hair on body parts without having to go to expensive laser treatments and such...

Well that would be exactly what they don't want. They don't care that we want it gone, they care about profit. If they were to release a product that stops hair growth completely, the payout wouldn't last.

This is actually an easy one to answer. Also, being as I am a hermaphrodite I have extensive knowledge in this. The reason
FtM,(female to male, unlike my predicament which is HtF) get away with it as you have put it, is all due to hormone levels. When say a transsexual man has the lower surgery, which removes the testicles, he, or she is no longer making "any" hormones. Now, that right there will trigger a ton of changes, including hair growth. However to make sure osteoporosis doesn't set in, they do need to take estrogen, or some variation there of. Now, there bodies are only producing, or least chemically supplied estrogen, which by nature alone dose not promote hair growth. People that are the greater whole who do not have any problems with there gender or any mutations will never understand nor go threw all this. But both male and female, do produce testosterone and estrogen. Male tips to more T, where as females tip more to E. When the code is interrupted, or a mutation takes place, a typical male, could produce more E, likewise a female could produce more T, giving them the problem with facial and body hair growth. Look at female bodybuilders for instance, if done with anabolic steroids, they are purposely tipping there hormone levels hence giving them a much more "masculine" appearance, but with the added benefit they seek being greater muscle growth. If you suspect hormones to be playing a role, see an endocrinologist, they will be able to tell if this is occurring. Hope this answers anyone's question as to the why them not me fiasco.

I struggled with facial hair for most of my life, I was bullied and humiliated throughout school and collage. I started laser hair removal at Maxi Medicare (Birmingham) 5 months ago and its completely changed my life. I feel like for the first time in my life I've got some confidence, I've been out with my friends more in these last 3 months than I had been all last year.
If you do decide to go with laser hair removal make sure you do your research and go for pain free hair removal, it cost the same as painful hair removal so its a no- brainer.
I just want to thank Maxi Medicare and team for everything.

There have been on the UK market at least one cream and at least one lotion containing a patent additive called (I think) Xyleine. I used both these, the cream being a low cost product from the UK chain store, Superdrug. The company have simply said that they no longer stock it. I don't know who made it for them because it was an "own label". It had a definite affect. But I am a lot older than many of you and I think if you are in your 20s, any facial hair you have is going to get stronger with age, maybe for a few more years. So you may well get the impression that plucking makes the hair thicker or stronger. But if you want an inhibitor to work, it needs to be applied immediately after plucking so that the active material can get down to the root. Shaving will have a different effect in that you are chopping it at skin level and it simply continues to grow fatter, so it appears to get thicker. Whereas plucking can often take the hair right down off the root and has to start again, so it gradually might get thinner - its just a theory. I'm using prescribed h.r.t. patches which seem to have a beneficial effect but in waves of months - then a month can come along when it all starts to grow.
I just did a check on a search and discovered "NairĀ® Moisturizing Hair Minimizing Cream with Xyleine" on the US market. It might be good for some of us.

What happens if I have too much androstenedione?
The effects of too much androstenedione are likely to result from its conversion in the body to oestrogen or testosterone.
In men, too much androstenedione may lead to an imbalance in oestrogen and testosterone production, leading to changes such as breast development. Depending on the cause of the excess androstenedione, other changes, such as the testes becoming smaller, might also occur.
In women, excess body and facial hair growth (called hirsutism), stopping of periods (amenorrhoea), worsening acne and changes to the genitalia may result from too much androstenedione.

One question to all woman with Unwanted Hair Growth Problem, Is it possible for happy married life with your husband? I'm 30 and I started facing this problem since I was 22. I'm afraid to get married. I'm straight. Please let me know. Your answer would be of great help.

Sally, Yes, it is possible. I am 26 years old and I have been married for 4 years, and we been together for a total of 8 years. I have the same unwanted facial hairs on my face and I hate it so much. My husband is very supportive and he never complains about my hairs, but of course I have sometimes no way to hide it and have to shave it. My doctor had me on Metaformin to help get my hormonoes balanced but it just wasn't working. I finally decided to try Electrolysis and it seems to be working. I been doing the treatments since Sept. It does take a while for the hair to be completely gone and of course there is some pain. But at least I am lucky that my electrolygist has her office inside a dentist, so whenever I go there to work on my upper lips, I always get the anesthsia by the dentist for an hour. So that treatment is totally pain free!! She has been working on both my upper lip and chin. Unfortunately, there isn't any anesthesia for there; but there is Dr. Numb and you apply to the area one hour before your treatment and it will help with some of the pain. I don't know how much an electrolygist charges around your area, but mine charges $85.00 an hour and since i use the dentist for the anesthesia it's $105.00 an hour.
I hope this helps. =)
